Donald (Don) L. Jarvis, age 82 of Glendive, MT, passed away after a short illness on March 6, 2022, at Glendive Medical Center.
Don was born and raised in Powderly, KY. After graduating high school, he joined the Air Force for 4 years. Most of this time was spent in England. When he was discharged, Don moved to California to be with family. It was here he met his loving bride, Nancy.
Don and Nancy moved to Livingston, MT, where Nancy was born and raised. It was here they started their family. Don started working for the Burlington Northern Railroad in 1963. Don also worked for the Livingston Public Library for 15 years. Among others, Don worked for IGA in Livingston part-time as well as the 5 Watters Search and Rescue. In 1996, Don was transferred with the Railroad to Glendive, later retiring in 2002. Don drove part time for Gledive sales and would have coffee in the mornings with good friends. Don loved spending time with family, camping, riding motorbikes in the mountains. Don asl hunted early on but later he preferred taking pictures of family and nature.
Don is survived by his wife, Nancy Jarvis, of 59 years, son Paul (Kim) Jarvis of Glendive, MT, daughter Desiree (Tracy) Gackle of Brockway, MT, sister-in-law Maxie Hartman Young of Glendive and numerous nieces and nephews.
Don is preceded in death by his father John henry Jarvis; mother Estella Jarvis; 8 siblings Katherine, Ed, Eurie, Paul, Carl, Edeth, Ken, Marvin & their spouses; brothers-in-law John Hartman (Alice) and David Young; mother-in-law Lucielle; and father-in-law Clarence.
Interment will be at the Shorthill Cemetery in Livingston, MT with a memorial service in Glendive at a later date.
