One of his proudest times while in Japan was having the privilege to be one of the men that started an orphanage for the children whom lost their parents during that time. He spent the next five years in the army national guard and working for Peavey at the elevators.  In 1963 he was transferred to Miles City and continued to work until his retirement in 1993.

Don is survived by his wife Shirley of Miles City; His three children, Valerie (Scott) Woodhead, and their children Andrew and Jeremy all of Lawrence, Kansas; Keith (Josette) Lindvold of Miles City, and their children Chris (April) Lindvold, their children Alyson, Sarah and Noah all of Poulsbo, Washington, and Kendall (Samantha) Lindvold and their child Kaden all of San Diego CA and Royce (Jennifer) Lindvold, and their children Ceasar and Kaitlyn all of Miles City, MT.  He is also survived by his beloved honorary grandchild Kaliahna.  He will be deeply missed by his fur babies Chiaro, Peter Pan and Tinkerbell.
