Donald Munroe

Celebration of Life: Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at Grace Bible Church.

Private Family Interment: Eastern Montana State Veterans Cemetery

Donald George Munroe, age 71, of Miles City went to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, December 13, 2010 at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings.

Don was born on July 9, 1939 in Great Falls, Montana, the son of D. E. and Isabelle (Bruneau) Munroe. He grew up and attended schools in Great Falls where he graduated from Great Falls High School in 1957. Following his schooling, he entered the United States Marines, returning home to Great Falls following his honorable discharge. Don then attended Montana State College (MSC), which later became Montana State University (MSU), where he graduated with a Bachelors of Industrial Engineering. Donald married Janice (Wagner) on September 16, 1962 in Bozeman, Montana. He returned to the family ranch at Great Falls where he worked until 1978 when he purchased the farm at Angela where he farmed until retiring.

Don loved golfing, hunting, woodworking, fly fishing and snowmobiling. He was active in coaching his kids and more importantly coaching the umps, and loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their activities. He would lend a hand to anyone in need. Don was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners, Town & Country Club, and Grace Bible Church and was active in their 3-in-1 and the home bible studies.

Don is survived by his wife, Janice Jan Munroe of Miles City, MT; a son, Doug (Niki) Munroe of Miles City, MT; Kristine (Tim) Crews of Miles City, MT; a brother, David (Nona) Munroe of Great Falls, MT; a great aunt, Doris Rogers of California; a great uncle, Medric Bruneau of Great Falls, MT; four grandchildren: Dylan and Cooper Munroe and Michael and Christian Crews; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Cooper in 1966.

A Celebration of Dons life will be held on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. at Grace Bible Church. A Private family interment will be held in the Eastern Montana State Veterans Cemetery.
