Donna Mae (Zinsli) Carlson, 73, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at the Holy Rosary Extended Care in Miles City after a series of strokes.
Donna was born in Beach, North Dakota on April 15th, 1937 to William and Mamie Zinsli, and the second of seven children. Donna was very popular in school. She loved dancing and had many friends. She graduated from Wibaux High School in 1955. Donna married D.C. Lawrence, Jr. in 1955 and raised four children. The family moved to Miles City in 1967. In 1986, she was remarried to Don Carlson. Donna was a great cook and loved preparing meals for family and friends. She enjoyed working in her garden, canning and preparing vegetables and growing flowers in the yard. She loved being home with Don and her two Keeshonds. She had beautiful handwriting and continued to write letters and cards to family and friends throughout her life.
Donna is survived by her husband, Don Carlson of Miles City, MT; Four children, Zac Lawrence, Bernadette (Jeff) Skidmore, Vance (Gena) Lawrence, all of Miles City, MT and Carla Lawrence (Will Alexander) of Roberts, MT; A stepdaughter, Shelly Beehler and stepson, Kelly Carlson of Miles City. MT. Five grandchildren, Candice Forman of Seattle, WA, Travis Forman of Manhattan, KS, Hannah Lawrence of Phoenix, AZ, Larissa and Lindsay Lawrence of Miles City, MT; three brothers, Harry, Ray and Bill Zinsli and two sisters, Delores Thomson and Florence Schwisow; and her Keeshond, Keeshe. She was preceded in death by her father, William Zinsli, her mother, Mamie Zinsli, and youngest brother, Bernard Zinsli; and her two dogs, Cotton and Sheba.
Donna was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother and a friend. We love you and will miss you. Rest in Peace.
Family will receive friends on Monday, May 24, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Private family interment will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at the Custer County Cemetery. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of the arrangements. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the East Main Animal Clinic.
