On the evening of October 4th, 2021, Donna passed away at St. Vincent Hospital in Billings, MT due to COVID stress. Donna was 50 years old, born in Crow Agency, MT. She would be the first daughter to Ella Big Hawk and Donald Rowland. Donna grew up traveling around, she spent some time in Colorado as a child, in Muddy as a teen and adolescence, and moved on to places such as Spokane, WA. Donna loved being around friends and family, always making new friends with each place she went. She was funny and easy going and loved to talk about anything with cooking and music. Donna always knew the best spots to have a steak and good brews. She enjoyed the city life and going to events, from concerts to festivals, and sight seeing. Donna could often be found on her way to a restaurant or work. Donna was always a hard worker. Usually finding jobs often with her personal interests in mind. Donna always had a passion for cooking and arts. She would then follow a career in cooking by becoming a self-taught cook working in private clubs and Hotels. Donna enjoyed cook for others in large to small quantities, for family, friends and just people alike. Some of Donna’s favorite things to do was to make mosaics on just about anything, bottles trays canvas. Donna loved to create pieces of art to share with family. Donna also loved to listen to music, with genres from rock, to rap, reggetone, and Reggae. Reggae being her favorite, it helped her become the soft, gentle soul in her older years.

Donna spent her last few years getting to know family, a younger sister Anna whom she got close to and enjoyed time with, and getting in touch again with family that she grew up with. Last year Donna had lost both Father and adoptive mother Lativa pass away due to COVID. Donna had many siblings from bother her mother and father, all growing up in different parts of the U.S. younger sisters Arlena Songer, Anna Gonzales, Destiny Rowland, and younger brothers, Robert Rowland and Robert Bighawk. Donna also had grandchildren, Calon Rowland, Haythen Sioux, Jackson Bearcomesout, Isabella Rowland and Leo Rowalnd whom she loved deeply.

Special Thanks to family and friends who came together to make Donna’s time here a good one, and happy one. To the nurses and doctors who watched over while battling covid.
