Donna Kay Smith, age 42, of Miles City passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at the Friendship Villa Care Center in Miles City.
Donna was born in Miles City, Montana on August 11, 1962. She was the daughter of Harold and Gladys Smith of Miles City. She was raised in Miles City until she was ten years old when the family moved to Fort Morgan, Colorado. She attended school in Fort Morgan and graduated from Fort Morgan High School. When the family moved back to Miles City, she stayed in Colorado. She got married to Rick Hietbrink and had three children. She later divorced and she moved back to Miles City in 1991. While in Miles City, she worked in her parents cafe known as Smiths Cafe on Main Street.
Donna is survived by her children, Jason Matthew Hietbrink and his wife Cheridy of Miles City, MT; Kyle Hietbrink of Vernon, TX; Kelly (Renae) Buckingham of Terry, MT; and Colton MacDonald of Nebraska; three grandchildren: Hannah and Hailey of Miles City, MT and Madison of Texas. Her survivors also include three sisters: Diane (John) Wehrer of Fort Morgan, CO; Susan (Bill) Buckingham of Terry, MT; and Carol (Terry) Bramble of Billings, MT; two brothers: Bill (Theresa) Smith of Billings, MT; Robert (Margaret) Smith of Miles City, MT; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Smith and a niece, Brianna Farhm.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Calvary Cemetery.
