Donnie “Goose” Rowland -Kehaene “Squint Eye” sas raised in Ashland MT on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation with Jerry Rowland. Grandma Julia raised them both.
At the age of 19 he married Ella Big Hawk. Then in his 20’s he moved to Oregon. He got his bachelor’s degree in Arizona for Forestry.
In 1992 he moved back home to Ashland, MT. He was a fan on Reggae music, Jazz, and he loved the Blues. He loved concerts, watching movies. He enjoyed taking his grandchildren and adopted children out on outings. He especially loved to play the guitar.
His favorite team was the Oregon Ducks. He shared employment on the reservation at Lame Deer forestry, St. Labre Club Buffet, and Lame Deer School. He was a fluent Cheyenne speaker. He was happy and enjoyed taking care of Devin Red Hat.
His hobbies were taking long walks, drives and hiking. He loved helping people in the community.
Donnie is survived by his brother Cedric Rowland and children, Donnie’s children: Donna Rowland and children, Julia Rowland and children, Dawn Rowland and children, Robert Rowland and children, five great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Extended family are Rowland, Yellow Tangled Hair, Standing Elk, Red Neck, Bahr, Thex, Red Robe, Parker, Big Head, Crazy Mule, Black Wolf, Fighting Bear, Fox, Eagle Feather, Beaver Hart,
Preceded in death by Donald Rowland Sr., Julia Big Head Man, Frank Rowland, Allen Rowland, Daisy Rowland, sisters, Marcella Crazy Mule, Edward Medicine Top Jr., Gerald Rowland, Francis Rowland, Donia Lee Rowland.
