In Memory Of

Dora Hendy, 31, of Miles City

October 2, 1986 – January 13, 2018

Dora Hendy, age 31, of Miles City, passed away January 13, 2018 due to injuries sustained in an auto accident near Rosebud. She was born October 2, 1986 to Randy and Betty Long Schneidt in Bayonne, ND. Dora grew up and lived most of her life in Texas and had moved to Miles City four years ago.

She loved the community of Miles City and how they welcomed and took care of her and her two daughters, Ashlynn and Alissa. She loved her girls very much, and always took care of their needs before her own. Dora enjoyed shopping and going out to restaurants, was very fun to be around, and was loved by all.

Dora was preceded in death by her grandparents Margaret and Hiram Long. She is survived by her parents, daughters Ashlynn Tyler and Alissa Joyce Vadan, brother Kevin Russell Baker, sisters Christina Ann Wojcik, and Angela Hendy, and grandparents Carl and Panzy Schneidt.

To Dora’s family, we will miss her sweet face and always positive attitude. For someone so sick she always had encouragement for others. I pray for her sweet baby girls. To her parents I am so sorry you have to endure the loss of a child. It is heartbreaking. Rest easy little one and fly high with the angels.

I think Dora and JoAnna (my little sis) we’re in 5th or 6th grade when I met her. She was so quiet and shy. When she finally started opening up to all of us a flood gate opened lol. She came to the hospital when my oldest son was born. She came to the hospital and sat with us every day when my twin nieces were born and dies. She was with JoAnna after she had my first nephew. The girls we’re attached at the hips so to speak. Dora was like the adopted little sister. She will forever be in my heart and missed so much. She is probably standing next to JoAnna looking down on us all saying “I got your back from here”. Sending prayers and love to her girls and Family and many friends in their time of need. LOVE YOU DORA!

Dora, I love you. You’re my best friend and the best person I’ve ever met. I would give my life to have you back, I would give anything, I would burn this fucking world to the ground to see you again. You asked me once to describe you in one word and the word I knew instantly. Superlative. You are beyond compare. I’m so grateful to know you and all the time we’ve had together will stay in my heart forever. I love you so much Dora, always and forever. Thank you for your love and friendship, you are everything to me.

“I respectfully offer my sympathy as you mourn the passing of Miss Hendy, I pray for your comfort during this difficult time for your family. May the promises of our Heavenly Father written in His Word give you a measure of strength and hope, confident your pain is temporary, your grief will be forgotten, God will bring an end to all that makes us sad.”

My sincere condolences to the Hendy family. The death of a loved one is very painful. The Holy Scriptures contain words of encouragement for families who have lost loved ones in death. John 5:28 reads: “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in “the memorials tombs” will hear his voice and come out”. This beautiful hope of a resurrection can give us comfort and an expectation of seeing Dora and our loved ones again in the near future. In the meantime, may the God of all comfort and tender mercies soothe your hearts (Psalm 94:19). For more comforting and encouraging scriptures please visit jw.org.

She was smart, talkative, kind and caring even at early age. I remember she used to talk about Montana all the time when she was little when my Aunt Bettyann first met Uncle Randy to our Grandma.
Dora has always been full of life you could see her ambitions and will in her eyes.
Dora a strong minded person ..I remember you make her mad the slightest and she would be the first to let you know.
Dora also had a contagious laugh that even in sad times she would help you brush it off and look forward.
Dora prided herself on being a mother to her two wonderful children, she put them first and foremost above and beyond and I know Dora will continue to watch over them.
Dora has always been a strong soul and I pray that Dora finds peace and quickly recognize and accepts the lift back Home. For she will be in the front line to greet us when we pass.
    -Angela Selman (your cousin)

Wow im just recently hearing about this and its tough to believe. She and I went to Texas Lions Camp and kept in touch for a few years afterwards. Eventually we lost touch but I would still ask people who knew her from time to time to see how she was if they knew anything. I remember we got in a lot of trouble racking up each others long distance phone bills back when that was a thing with landlines. Even though we haven’t spoken in years, its still shocking to hear. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and loved ones, she was a great person to have known.
