Burial: will follow in the family lot of the Forsyth Cemetery.
Doris Jean Friez, age 87, of Forsyth, MT passed away peacefully at her home on the family ranch south of Forsyth on Monday, February 22, 2010.
Doris Jean was born June 4, 1922 the daughter of Reginald Reg and Gladys (Lawrence) Pemberton in Lodge Grass, MT. She attended grade schools in Forsyth, Kent, WA, Phoenix, AZ, Chelan, WA, and Lodge Grass, MT. She graduated from Forsyth High School in 1941. Following graduation she worked at Cornwells Hardware Store in Forsyth. She was united in marriage to Joseph Joe Friez on November 25, 1943 in Forsyth, MT. Together they resided on the Friez ranch and is where she lived until her passing. Doris Jean enjoyed being a partner on the ranch with her husband Joe. She loved her flowers and gardening, being a caregiver to her family and friends. She enjoyed doing crossword and word search puzzles. She was a member of the Federated Church of Forsyth, a Rosebud County Election Judge, and she was an officer for the Friez Circle Four Ranch.
Doris Jean was preceded in death by her husband Joe Friez of 63 years; her parents Reg and Gladys Pemberton; her brothers Raymond and Leo Pemberton, and niece Sherry Baldi.She is survived by her sister Lois Kuhn of Forsyth; her sister-in-law Josephine Falcon of WA; her nephews, David Friez (Shelley) of Forsyth, Frank Friez of Deltona, FL, Rick Friez (Patsy) of Billings, Ron Friez (Trish) of Big Arm, MT and Bob Lamb (Jane) of Forsyth; her nieces, De Nice Lamb-Curry of Miles City, Karen Friez Ridl (Ron) of Spokane, WA, Jean Friez Graham (Mike) of Helena, MT, Carla Pemberton Eller, Jo Ellen Pemberton Hobbs, Leta Pemberton Warren and Sharon Pemberton Chin all of Washington.
Doris Jean is survived by numerous great nephews and nieces who she also loved and adored spending her time with. She is also survived by her good friend and caregiver Donna Lewis of Hysham, MT.
Doris Jean touched the hearts of so many people with her kindness and generosity. She will be truly missed by all. Family suggests memorials may be made to the Rosebud Foundation, Rosebud County Museum or Forsyth Elementary School Library.
