Doris Ann Medicine Bull, Maheonohone’e “Sacred Tipi Ring Woman”, age 60, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Billings Montana of a broken heart.
She was born on March 19, 1960 at Crow Agency, MT, the daughter of Burt and Ellen Medicine Bull.
She attended St. Labre Indian School and later graduated high school there. Doris furthered her education at MSU Bozeman, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services. She moved back to the Northern Cheyenne tribe to help her people while working at the Tribal Education Department for many years. As well as raising her family, during this time she was instrumental in establishing the Lame Deer High School which became a reality in the fall of 1994. She continued to be involved in local and state politics.
She loved to do beadwork, attend powwows, hand games, and being remembered as a comedian and most of all Doris loved her family.
She is survived her son, Gregory Boss Ribs; siblings, Alaina Buffalo Spirit, Setovaatse (Kitty) Medicine Bull, Kenneth (Connie) Medicine Bull, Willis (Eulonda) Medicine Bull, Charles Kaline, Renette (Tony) Kaline, Lorie (Angel) Kaline; aunts and uncles, Wayne (Rosanne) Headswift, Eva Bearchum; , and numerous aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Doris was preceded in death by her son, Arnie, Jr.; husband, Robert Brien Sr.; parents; sister, Dina Kaline; brothers, Morris Medicine Bull, Henry Medicine Bull, niece, Precious Sunset Medicine Bull.

I was so sad to read of the passing of Doris. We were childhood friends and had a lot of great times. One fond memory I have was on my birthday and she stayed overnight and my Aunt Phoebe made us dinner and then chased us and would tickle us, it was so much fun.
