In Memory Of

Dorothy Buck

Visitation: will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home.

Vigil Service: will be held on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral Mass: will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Interment: will follow in the family lot of the Calvary Cemetery.

Dorothy Ann (Hardesty) Buck, beloved wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt and friend, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 29, 2006 at the Holy Rosary Health Care facility in Miles City after a brief illness. She lived her life to the fullest for 76 years.

Dorothy was born on February 25, 1930 in Miles City, Montana, the daughter of Fred and Frances (Sullivan) Hardesty and she was the youngest and last surviving of her five siblings.

Dorothy attended Sacred Heart Grade School, Custer County High School and Presentation College. A lifetime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, she loved and lived her faith. Dorothy married Gene Thomas Buck on November 12, 1950 in Miles City at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. They were blessed as a married couple for almost 56 years. They have two daughters, Mary Jean and JoAnn. They made their family home in Miles City, Powder River County and Sidney. Dorothys outgoing and welcoming personality touched the lives of all who met and knew her. She always felt the blessings of her friends and especially her family. Dorothy worked at Miles Community College for fifteen years. While there she won the hearts and respect of the students. Dorothy, along with Gene, was very involved with the St. Vincent de Paul store in Miles City, and served as its chairman, in order to give back to their community. Through the years she enjoyed many activities; bowling, skating, biking, walking, canoeing, cross country skiing and golf. She enjoyed playing cards, bridge and scrabble. Her competitive spirit always made for a fun game.

Dorothy is survived by her husband Gene of Miles City, MT; daughter Mary Jean Gaskill and her husband Kelley of Bozeman, MT; daughter JoAnnKemmis and her husband Greg of Albany, NY and of Portland, OR; a grandson David Thomas Taft Gaskill of Bozeman, MT, three sisters-in-law; Mary Hardesty of Miles City, MT, CarolJohnstone and her husband Johnny of Miles City, MT, and Merle Darlene Mathews and her husband Royce, a special cousin Joe Sullivan and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings; Marguerite Edwards, Bernice Erickson, Tom Hardesty, and Jack Hardesty, a grandson Chris Gaskill, sisters-in-law; Ethel Hardesty and Harriet Fjetland, brothers-in-law; Tex Taylor, John Morgan, Bob Edwards, and Claude Erickson.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. A Vigil Service will be held on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will follow in the family lot of the Calvary Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorials may be made in Dorothys name to the Sacred Heart School, St. Vincent de Paul or to the charity of one's choice.
