Dorothy Dot Helen Nalley, age 81, of Broadus, MT passed away July 14, 2010 at the Powder River Manor.

Dot was born on August 21, 1928, at Fairview, MT, the daughter of Harry and Gertrude Mitchell. In the spring of 1929, she moved to the Sonnette area. Her dad purchased the Paul Frick and Bill Ayles places. Her mother and father had five daughters, Eva, Dot, Honey, Bo and Lori. Her father always said he could have a boy but he didn't want one.Dot attended the Mitchell School through the 8th grade, and graduated from the Powder River County High School. She started work for the United States Department of Agriculture (Triple A) on May 9, 1946. She became the office manager in 1948 and retired from that position in May, 1986. Retirement didn't really suit Dot. She worked for Frans Clothing in Broadus through the 90s. Recently she worked for Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Broadus.

Dot met Lloyd after he returned from the service. They were married in Billings, MT in August, 1953. They had one daughter Lenny Louise, and after she was born they bought a house from her folks and lived there until September, 2002. Dot enjoyed going and watching Lloyd play saxophone with a dance band for many years, and going with him to the country dances they played for.Dot was a member of the VFW Auxiliary for many years and volunteered for funerals and community events. She always found time to pleasantly assist people or organizations in need. Dot had a smile for everyone and was never seen without being perfectly attired, coiffed and made up.

Dot is survived by her daughter Lenny Jone's of Belgrade, MT; two sisters, Streamie Melville and Bo Denson; one grandson, Cory Jone's and three great-grandchildren, Sammi, Emmy and Shale.

She is preceded in death by her husband Lloyd, her parents; two sisters, Eva Deitchler and Honey Roberts and two grandchildren, Shane and Collin Jone's.

Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of the arrangements.
