Interment: Custer County Cemetery in Miles City.
Dorothy Dolly Mildred Kipf, age 85, of Miles City, MT passed away on June 15th, 2007 at the Holy Rosary Health Center in Miles City.
Dolly was born on February 20, 1922 to Kenneth and Frances Edith (Horn) Danniel in Sturgis, SD. She was raised in the Castle Creek area. Dolly attended schools in Hill City, SD and high school in Rapid City, SD. She did various jobs and at the age of 16 she hitch-hiked to Montana and stayed with her Aunt Pearl. Dolly met Bob Kipf at a dance where they fell in love and were later married in 1939 in Glendive, Montana. They lived on Rock Creek, west of Circle, where they worked for the ranchers in the area for several years. They then moved to Sidney, Montana for a couple of years until buying a farm in Rosebud. They moved to Sheridan Wyoming and cooked for Beckton Stock Farm. In 1979, they moved to Miles City, where Bob worked and Dolly cooked for the Diamond Ring Ranch for five years before moving to Sundance, Wyoming. In May of 2007 Dolly moved to Miles City, MT.
Dolly enjoyed quilting, all needle work, reading, guiding riders through the Little Big Horn and enjoyed spending time with family.
Dolly is survived by three sons; Ken (Terry) Kipf of Harolowtown, MT Larry (Merry) Kipf of Rosebud Creek, MT and Lloyd Kipf of Bloomingdale, GA; three daughters; Lois Kipf of Garden City, ID, Kathy (Charley) Bumgardner of Miles City, MT and Karlys (Corky) Irion of Cave Creek, AZ, two brothers; Francis (Roberta) Danniel of Napa, CA and Wilbur (Gloria) Bruce of Rapid City, and sister Rose Berry of Lewistown, MT, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of sixty years, Bob, a son, Kelsey Jake Kipf, two brothers; Warren Danniel and Frank Bruce and two sisters; Elsie Jackson and Florence Moore.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2007 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 22, 2007 at 1:00 pm at Grace Bible Church in Miles City. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City.
