Dorothy May Baker, age 75, passed away January 7, 2004 in Wolf Point, MT.

Dorothy was born August 27, 1928 in Kansas City, MO to John William Vest and Hazel Queen Pevehouse. She lived in Kansas City until her second year of school when her family moved to Belton Mo. They live there until 1942 when the moved to Drexel, Mo where she finished her schooling then she moved back to Kansas City to live with her grandmother and aunts. While in Kansas City she worked at Commerce Trust Bank for five years. She then moved to Wolf Point MT with a friend in May 1952 where they worked for an oil company that traveled North Dakota, Wyoming, South Dakota and Montana.

Dorothy then met Marvin Baker and was married November 21, 1952. Marvin was in the US Navy so they went to Kodiak, Alaska in January 1953 until August 1954. During their stay there she worked for the government until their daughter, Sherry, was born in 1953. After returning to Wolf Point she was a housewife and mother. In June of 1956 they had a son, Randy. In 1962 they bought into Triple Supply and worked in the store until it closed in August of 1992. After retiring in 1980 and moving to Bigfork, MT she went to work at Flathead Bank for six and a half years. Marvin and Dorothy were later divorced. At this time her mother, Hazel Vest, moved in with her. Together they would go to Yuma AZ in the winter. After the death of her mother she moved to Yuma. Returning to Bigfork during the summers. While in Yuma she worked for Foxworth Gallery Hardware, in the plumbing dept. until the time of her death.

Dorothy enjoyed bowling and bowled in national bowling tournaments and traveled around the United States to bowl. She was very active in her grandchildrens lives always being there for the most important events, which lead her to many parts of the United States.

Her brother Larry Franklin Vest of Harrisville, MO, her children survive Dorothy; Sherry (Nufry) Boysun of Wolf Point, MT and Randy (Angie) Baker of Bigfork, MT, and grandchildren; Chris (Erica) Levitt of FL, Aaron (Kristine) Levitt of NC, Matthew Baker, and Kae Loni Baker both of Bigfork, MT.

Visitation will be Friday, January 9, 2004 from 1:00pm to 8:00pm at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point, MT. Funeral service will be Saturday, January 10, 2004 at 3:00pm at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel.
