Dorothy T. Minder passed away on December 20, 2024 in Helena, MT. Dorothy was born on March 6, 1931 to Harry Pickering and Barbara Schuelnberg in Carterville, MT.
She married John Wester on March 14, 1949, they had three children, Joe (Lenna) and twins, Cal (Rhonda) and Carl, they later divorced. On June 17, 1974 she married Denny Minder.
She worked more jobs than we remember. She was a roundhouse clerk for CMSTP&P until they moved to Glendive where she had two or three other jobs. If you went by her house, you knew which holiday was coming; she decorated for all. One thing was certain, she never was much for being still. She made shirts and knitted sweaters for us. She volunteered her time, sang in her church choir and acted in local theater productions.
She is survived by her two sons, Joe (Lenna), two stepdaughters, Kim and Dana; nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; brother Andrew “Butch” Schulenberg.
She was preceded in death by husband, Denny, one son, Carl and one grandson, Eric.
A funeral service will take place on Friday, December 27, 2024 at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home, 245 Westwind Lane, Forsyth, MT 59327 starting at 1pm. Burial will follow to Forsyth Cemetery, 2470 Front Street, Forsyth, MT 59327. A reception will be held back at the funeral home. I am sorry for the loss of your dear Mother. She and your Dad were good neighbors. We really enjoyed the beautiful flowers she grew along the north side of their house which we could see from our patio. She was very proud of you all especially the grandchildren. Love and prayers, from Anita

I will always have special memories of Dorothy, she first welcomed me into her life and home when her and Denny lived in Harlowton Montana. Dorothy loved her Boys and their family’s and she loved and took wonderful care of my dad Denny and it was because of her that my Dad was involved in his children’s lives and we were able to have a relationship with him, I will always be grateful to to her for that and the trips they made to Idaho to visit us and meet the grand children.. my prayers and thoughts go out to her family and I know she will be missed greatly. May she rest in peace.

She was a lady of conviction and style.
