Dorothy R. Tadsen, age 81 of Forsyth, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2004 at the Rosebud Health Care Center in Forsyth.
Dorothy was born on September 23, 1922 in Brandenberg, MT the daughter of George C. and Floy (Barbour) Goodale. Dorothy grew up in the Brandenberg area and was educated in Forsyth where she graduated. Following graduation Dorothy continued her education at Eastern Montana College. She was united in marriage to Walter W. Tadsen on June 29, 1942 in Crow Agency. Together, they made their home on the A.P. Webb ranch where Walt was a foreman. While there, Dorothy began her teaching career in the Beaver Creek School on Sarpy Creek. She taught there 11 years and later taught in the Forsyth school system for the next 27 years as the district Librarian until she retired. During her life time, Dorothy was very involved and active in the Eastern Star, holding many offices at the local and state level including Worthy Grand Matron.
She loved life and people of all walks. Dorothy especially loved her grandchildren and enjoyed traveling throughout the state watching them in their school functions.
Dorothy is survived by her son Walt Tadsen II and his wife Linda of Forsyth, two grandsons Cody and Casey, one great-grandson Jared Andrew Mack of Billings, her nephew John Goodale, great nieces and nephews Wade Fleming, Ginger Flemming-Nangle, Flint Fleming, Jason, Joel, and Jennifer Goodale. She is also survived by her Cousin Sadie Brewer, Ed Davis, sisters-in-law, Migon Tadsen and Louise Fleming.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Walter W. and her brother Hank.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Forsyth. Burial will be in the family lot of the Forsyth Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to the Rosebud County Museum or the Rosebud County Library.
