Dorothy Rose was born on November 5, 1924 in Akron, OH the daughter of Charles S. and Helena E. (Bond) Rose. She attended school around the Akron and Stow, OH area until the 11th grade when she began working for the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. Dorothy married Jesse "Guy" Jennings in 1945 and to this union two children were born Mark and Deborah. Dorothy continued working for Firestone until she was laid off due to hard times. She started working for a short time for a meat packing plant and as a dishwasher and at a restaurant for a short time. Virginia lost her first husband "Guy" in 1963. She eventually was able to return to the tire factory where she worked as a bead builder until she retired. During this time Virginia met and married Robert "Bob" Vorhes in 1977. After retiring Dorothy and Bob traveled and camped in their 5th wheel all across the United States even including down into Mexico, they never stayed in one place too long. Then they settled a bit around Matlacha, Pine Island, and finally Ft. Myers, Florida. They worked together in Ohio and Florida buying old houses and fixing them up to resell. After Bob's passing Dorothy moved to Miles City in 2006 to be closer to her daughter Deborah, she lived in Forsyth then returned to live in Miles City until the time of her passing.
Dorothy enjoyed computer: emailing, skype, facebook, finding new recipes and crafts, doing oil and water paintings, cooking, reading mystery novels, crocheting, traveling, camping, and most of all spending time with family and friends.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Mark (Deborah) Jennings of Akron, OH; daughter, Deborah (Allan) Thompson of Rosebud, MT; sister, Donna Black of Lady Lake, FL; step-daughter, Teresa LeCrone of Naples, FL; step-son, Bobby Vorhes of Ohio; eight grandkids, eighteen great grandkids, and two step-grandkids.
