In Memory Of

Douglas Tetschner, age 60, of Miles City.

December 25, 1960 – April 11, 2021

On April 11, 2021, Douglas “Doug” W. Tetschner passed away at Holy Rosary Healthcare Hospital in Miles City, Montana.  Doug was 60 years old.

Doug was born December 25, 1960, in Arlington Heigh, Illinois, the son of Fred and Marge (Sleaford) Tetschner. His family moved from Illinois to Montana in 1970.  He has remained in Montana and received his GED here.  He later attended and graduated from MCC Mechanics Program.

Doug made his main career as an engineer for Transco Railway Services.  He had worked for them for 33 years.  Doug had previously worked at LP Anderson.

Doug was a truly kind and loving person. He loved his dogs, family, and friends.  He was always there when someone needed him, he was especially available for his family.  The family lovingly called him “Doug the Bug” as he was always picking on someone. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and made it to Sturgis every year.  Doug was also an avid golfer and played a round with his friends whenever the opportunity arose.  He will be missed beyond words.

Doug was preceded in death by his brother Marvin Tetschner. He is survived by his parents, son Jase Tetschner, sisters Sherry (Robert) HoChee and Shelma (Gary) Erikson, brother Ron Tetschner , and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home.  Memorials can be made in Doug’s honor to the animal shelter. Visit  www.stevensonandsons.com to view the memorial service via live stream and to send condolences to the family.

I am really going to miss Doug. He was such a talented man. I am still in shock that Doug has passed and that I won’t be able to visit with him. There was nothing Doug couldn’t fix. Behind the gruff exterior lived a wonderful man. Sending condolences to his family and friends. Doug, you may no longer be here, but you will not be forgotten.

I have not seen Doug for awhile and was saddened to find out he has passed. I remember delivering Jobie recycling for his garden and seeing that big grin as he spoke enthusiastically about his plans. I remember that grin when he would deliver a big load of corn stalks for Jobie or leave huge beets for me. I remember laughing when we talked about how his dogs had him wrapped around their paws. I will always smile when I remember Doug and that grin. My heartfelt sympathy to his family and friends. We were all blessed to have known him. May you find comfort in your memories.

Doug’s quiet nature and mischievous grin will be remembered. As kids growing up he was usually the one leading the adventures, but he was also always looking out for us younger ones to make sure the adventure didn’t go too wrong. That kindness followed him throughout his life. He will be missed. Prayers and love to all of the family. From the Lee Family in Helena
