Duane (Dewey) Curtis Skogley, age 76, of Hardin, passed away January 6, 2007 at his home in Hardin, MT.
Duane was born February 6, 1930 in Mott, ND the son of Conrad and Ida Skogley. He was raised and educated in the Mott area. Following his schooling he worked for the Army Corp of Engineers building several dams in North Dakota and Washington.On January 4, 1951 he and Diane Duncanson were united in marriage in Mott. Following their marriage they made their home in Washington where Duane continued his work with the Army Corp. They later moved back to the family farm south of Mott. They raised their children on the farm until moving into Mott. Duane later drove truck for several years and then worked for different ranchers in Montana moving to Hardin in 1988. Following Dianes death he continued to make his home in Hardin up until the time of his death.Duane loved fishing, his western movies, leather working, reading, hunting, his family and truly enjoyed his many friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Diane and brothers, Dick, Harley and Charlie.
Duane is survived by two sons; Todd (Cathy) Skogley of Pocahonta, IL and Troy (Bobbee) Skogley of LaPoint, Utah; three daughters; DuAnn (Bubba) Goody of Sweeny, TX, Pam (Neal) Shelton of Rosebud, MT, and Nadine Deane (Mark) Voight of Alhambra, IL.brothers; Gerald Bud (Marilyn) Skogley of Bismarck, ND and Earl (Clarice) Skogley of Bozeman, MT and sisters; Altha (John) Perry of Kennewick, WA, Roberta Swanson of Vista, CA and Ginny Craig of Leachburg, PA. He is also survived by grandchildren; Scott (Tracy) Klein, Jenny Klein, Jerry (Johanna) Becker, Tommy (Jamie) Becker, Kurt Skogley, Kara Skogley, Kyle Knupp, Dallas Skogley and friend Lindsay, Michael Skogley, Tiffany Skogley and Kristen Goode; great-grandchildren; Kala Woods, Amanda Klein, Leta DeBardeleben, Hanna Jo Becker and Stephen Michael Knupp as well as many nieces and nephews.
We would like to say a special thank you to Joyce and Rick, Claudine, Kim and Birdie. They helped him in so many ways and made things so much easier.
Cremation has taken place and internment of the ashes will be at a later date in Mott, ND. A celebration of Duanes life will be held at his residence in Hardin on Saturday January 20, 2007 at 11 a.m. Condolences may be sent to the family by visitingwww.stevensonandsons.com
