On the evening of March 12, 2013 Maheo called an angel to rest. Earl Bird Chief was born in Crow Agency on July 2, 1951 the son of Clarence Bird Chief and Mildred Martha Eaglefeathers.
Earl attended school in Busby in his younger years; he enjoyed the company of helping raise numerous nieces, nephews in his spare time. He also enjoyed being around the company of his friends playing pool and cards. He enjoyed working on cars in his younger days, loved playing the guitar in different places like Browning, Sheridan and all over. He also was a custodian for the Busby School and was a Montana Indian fire fighter.
Earl is survived by Alvin (Marvelene) Bird Chief of Billings, Elsie Weasel Bear (Marquel, Talon and Herman III), Sister Amelia Bird Chief (Davine, Tanya, Victoria, William, Terry (Fawn), Mercedes) of Billings, Kenneth Bird Chief (Keith (Jeana), Chad, Augusta, Hailey, Lana), LeeAna & Gilbert (Carla, Jeremy, Skyler & Rosaline) of Lame Deer, Herman Jr. of Lame Deer, Valoria (Leslie Ann, Trent II, Morgan, Taylor, Grant, Aubrey) of Mt. Pleasant MI, Elroy (Fawn, Mountain, Elroy Jr.) of Lame Deer, Anna & Mike Sr. (Mike Jr., Melissa, Mykyol) Old Crane of Lame Deer, Nadine ( Valao, Chris Jr.) Linn Bird Chief (Tyler, Hunter, Tristen) of Bozeman, Demetria Bearing (Orville Jr, Lucas, Spencer) of Lame Deer, Jeffrey , Elijah, Tyrone & Courtney (Kenyon and Julio), Leslie Bird Chief of Muddy, Nicole Bird Chief of Arizona, Waylon (Aaron and Waylon) of Wyoming, and Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, Leniah, Alecia, Emil, Mitchel Jr., Arvilla, Precious, PJ, Leighton, Aliyah, Lalynn, Ashanti, Maleeya, Tyrell, Keith II. Special friends include Carol Bahr, Jon Jon Foote, Fox brothers, Charleston and June Yellow Fox, and his Ashland Crew.
Earl is preceded in death by his parents, Brothers Ray and Dale, Sister Jennifer Glynda Curtis, a sister Bernice & Marie, a grandson Nevada Cruz.
Visitation will be Monday, March 18, 2013, 7:00 PM in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, March 19, 2013 2:00 PM at the White River Mennonite Church in Busby.
