A celebration of life for Earl Darrel Bock will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, May 22, 2004, at the West Side Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Williams officiating. Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home of Gillette, Wyoming is entrusted with local arrangements.
Darrel Bock, age 55, of Gillette, Wyoming, died May 18, 2004, at the Campbell County Memorial Hospital in Gillette, Wyoming of a long time illness.
Earl Darrel Bock, known to his family and friends as Darrel, was born May 24, 1948, the son of Marjorie (Roberts) and Earl Bock. He was raised and educated in the Osage, Wyoming area, graduating from Upton High School in 1966. Shortly after his graduation, he met Nancy Honadel. He married Nancy on August 19, 1967 in Newcastle, Wyoming. The couple lived in Newcastle and Moorcroft, Wyoming until they moved to Gillette, Wyoming in 1970, where he has resided since. In January of 1968, Darrel began a 25 year career at the Black Hills Power Plant until his retirement in 1994. Darrel enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, hunting, and being in The Great Wyoming Outdoors.
Darrel is survived by his mother, Marjorie Bock; his wife; three sons: Rodney Bock, Craig (Susan) Bock, and Dan (Jennifer) Bock, all of Gillette, Wyoming; one brother, Gary Bock of Wright, Wyoming; two sisters: Patricia (Mark) Farmer of Julesburg, Colorado; Judy (Al) Patz of Gillette, Wyoming; six grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father in 2003.
