Earl Fritz, age 76 of Circle, passed away February 4, 2019 at the McCone County Health Center in Circle.
Earl was born on January 12, 1943 to Alvin and Elsie (Volpp) Fritz at Glendive. He was the baby of the family with 14 other siblings. He went to grade school in Circle and graduated from Circle High School. In 1961, Earl married Doline Moos and life began. They moved to Oregon where he worked in the saw mill with his brother and also for the International Paper Company. Then in 1977 they purchased Doline’s grandparent’s place and started raising wheat and sheep which he enjoyed. When the travelling bug came along would pick a new place to go each year by car. Earl had a love for rodeo and for several years when December rolled around you could find them at the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. When they weren’t travelling you could find him playing cards. Earl was also a member of the First Lutheran Church and President of the Commercial Club in Brockway for several years, and enjoyed helping with the Brockway Dairy Days Rodeo.
Earl is survived by his wife of 58 years, Doline; sons Rick (Becky) Fritz and Mike (Lisa) Fritz; grandchildren Ali, Dina, Thomas, and Katelyn; sisters Louise Holmes and Viola Titsworth; and brother Melvin Fritz. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters: Mildred Scott, Howard Fritz, Gladys Sukut, Richard Fritz, Art Fritz, Lyle Fritz, Ralph Fritz, Winifred Fritz, Avron Fritz, Lucille Massin, and Lawrence Fritz.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, March 29, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 PM at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Circle. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the First Lutheran Church in Circle. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery in Circle, MT. A very nice picture of Earl. Like l remember him. Most of my memories are before he was 10 years old. He was a sweet, fun little boy. We would get so excited when we would see the Fritz kids come walking up the hill. No wonder he loved rodeos. We played a lot of cowboy games when we were kids. Sometimes with real horses. Our love and sympathy to all of you. RlP old friend.
