Auntie Maria, Jona, Urla and Family: we are sending our deepest Condolences & prayers from The Turtle Mountains. Uncle Cookie was a very nice person who cared about his entire family. Sadly, we didn’t get to see him much BUT he always made his phone calls to let us know he was thinking of us all. He was a kind, soft spoken, fun, happy kinda of guys. I don’t ever remember a time where he said something negative. He loved taking pictures, he like taking natural pictures, a pic where no one knew he was taking it and he captured a lot of us that way. We all knew how much he LOVED his family (wife, daughters & son in-laws and sisters), especially his grand kids. He loved sharing about each and everyone of them, he was beyond proud. We will miss you!! May God bless your family and may your journey be as beautiful as you were.

Dear Maria, Jona, Urla and all of your families. We are deeply saddened by the loss of Earl. A good man who has journeyed ahead of us. We feel the following expresses our faith when we lose our loved ones.
” I am standing on the sea shore. A ship sails in the morning breeze and starts for the ocean. He is an object of beauty and I stand watching him. Til at last he fades on the horizon and someone at my side says “he is gone”. Gone! Where? Gone from my sight is all. He is just as full in the masts, hull and spars as he was when I saw him. And just as able to bear his load of living freight to its destination. The diminished size and total loss of sight is in me, not in him. And, just at the moment when someone at my side says “he is gone”, there are others who are watching him coming, and other voices take up a glad shout “here he comes!”. And that is dying. A horizon and just the limit of our sight. Lift us up, Oh Lord, that we may see further.
Our love and prayers for you.

Uncle Earl was a good man. I will miss hearing him tell stories and making jokes. I have good memories of sitting down for breakfast made by Aunt Maria at his house before we gathered his cows. One such morning he showed my dad some of the special hot sauce he had that was so hot it had to be applied with a dropper. I was impressed, but wasn’t brave enough to try it.
