Edith Carlson Ebert, age 86 of Miles City, passed away on August 29, 2016 at the Billings Clinic in Billings, MT.
Edith was born on March 21, 1930 in Kent, Connecticut to Steven and Edith (Peck) Chase. She was the youngest of ten children in her family. She grew up attending grade school in Kent. He family moved to Medora, ND where they made home for several years. She married Bob Carlson and to this marriage they had 7 children: Farron, Carl, Claude, Robin, Debbie, Maxine & Dorene. Bob and Edith later on divorced. Edith worked three jobs over the years to support her seven children. She spent thirty years helping take care of her daughter Debbie after a car accident. She did the best she could to make ends meet for the family. Later on she married Al Ebert. Edith was a lifetime member of the V.F.W Auxiliary and an avid blood donor. She loved to play music, work in her yard, gardening and anything to do with nature. Most of all, she loved her family.
Edith is survived her children: Farron (Linda) Carlson, Carl Carlson, Claude (Cheryl) Carlson and Robin (Ray) Leatherberry; a sister Helen Bianchi; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her children: Debbie Carlson, Dorene Robertson & Maxine Leatherberry and nine brothers and sisters.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City, MT. Edith and my mother Ruth Slater were great friends. I remember Edith was a very talented musician and her and my mother played music together in a Band for a while. She had great energy and worked really hard to take care of her children. My sympathy, thoughts and prayers go out to your family.
