Edmund (June) Commodore Walton, Jr., 86, passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point, MT. He would have been 87 on October 10th.
June was born October 10, 1920 to Edmund Commodore Walton and Jessie M. (McCune) Walton in McCone county across the river from Frazer, MT.
June served in WWII as a Technical Sergeant, 42nd Air Depot Group 42nd Mobile Radio & Radar Squadron and was Honorably Discharged on October 1, 1945. June was a member of the American Legion.June met Loretta Tweet Wetsit while she was teaching school at North Pasture Creek School. They were married and together had five children. June was a cowboy and ranched all of his life. June loved his family and loved to spend time with them.
June is survived by his wife, Lorie, of 52 years, his children, Dorie (Jim) Rush, Carolyn (Bill) Rusche, Steve, Pat, and T.ED. Walton, and adopted son (&grandson), Miles Walton, all of Wolf Point. Eight grandsons, four granddaughters, one great granddaughter, and two great grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers. Most recently his adopted son, Lance Gilbertson, passed away on September 16, 2007.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 18 starting at 12 noon with a Vigil service at 7:00 p.m. at Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Wolf Point. His funeral service will be Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church with Father Steve Zabrocki as celebrant. Interment with military honors will follow at Greenwood Cemetery
