Edward Albert Brost, “Eddy”, “Ed”, “Dad,” passed away on Friday March 26, 2021 in Circle, MT. He was surrounded by his family.
Ed was born May 1st, 1941, in Circle, MT. He was the oldest of three. He attended Brockway School and then Circle High School, from which he graduated in 1959. Ed worked at the Peavey Elevator, John Shennum, Logans, and drilled wells with his father, Albert. He joined the Military and served 2 years. He returned to Brockway to take over the family farm upon his father’s death in 1967.
Ed married Billie Jo “Joey” Brennan in 1966, and they had three children, Bobbi Jo Noess (Les) – grandchildren Samantha Noess and Sheldon Noess of South Dakota; Marcie Willson; and Ryan Brost – grandchildren Elliot, Aiden and Oscar. Oscar in the last couple years was a light in Dads smile. Dad enjoyed teaching Elliot mechanizing from his years of being a master mechanic and his ability to farmerize anything (even things that should have been left alone). He passed on his love for trucking and “grabbing a Gear” to Elliot. Ed was married to Joey until her untimely death in 1980. Dad raised us kids alone for many years. He was the best MOMDAD anyone could have asked for! Ed’s love for skiing led him to meet his “traveling partner” and our “bonus mom”, Deanna Keysor. They were married for 19 years but “traveled” together long before that. They enjoyed traveling and making memories with all their friends, who are too many to mention, but you know who you are. Ed was proceeded in death by his first wife, Joey, mother, Martha Brost, Father Albert Brost and brothers, Willy Brost & Kenny Brost. He is survived by his wife, Deanna; his children, Bobbi Jo, Marcie, Ryan; his 3 “bonus” sons, Kelly, Kirk, and Kyle Keysor; his sister, Nyla Knierim, and sister-in-law, Mickyee Brennan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
To sum up his life here would require far too many pages. Oh, the stories we could tell! The phrases he could weave. Those who knew Ed loved him. He was a soft-spoken man with a blazing sharp wit, which we will all miss. He never said much but when he did it was usually worth a listen.

I would answer the phone & the voice on the other end would say this is Ed & I would say hello “Eddie”, from that moment on the arguments were on. Ed’s calls were often for Tractor or Combine parts, or where the “H” can I find something. The Rule was not to interrupt him in his requests because sometimes they were a little hard to believe, but most of the time his thoughts worked. His ending request was usually, you know you could do better on the price for a “Poor Farmer”!!!!! What a Friend.

So sorry for your loss, Deanna and family..
Eddy was Eddy. No one quite like him. I remember the time his pigs got into mom and dads garden. Man was mom hot, but Eddy and dad got them out and I believe Eddy even got some vegetables out of the ruckus. Lol
Brockway won’t be the same anymore, but Heaven gained another BROCKWAYITE.

Tom Larson says
When something needed to be welded at our place my dad (Leo) would load it up and say “let’s go see Eddy” (Leo didn’t like to weld and I was too small). Eddy always seemed to have the time, patience, and ability to fix whatever was broken even if he was busy with his own work. That is just how he was. I believe he enjoyed the political discussions/arguments that ensued as well. Sorry to learn of his passing.
Kathy Aakre Ruddy says

God Bless to you kids and to Deanna, may your love for Eddie be always in your hearts. God Bless your family!
