Edwin C. (Sonny) Olson, age 61, of Jordan Montana passed away Monday, November 13, 2006, at his son's home in Jordan.
Sonny was born September 12, 1945, in Jordan, Montana, the son of Norman and Lucille Edwards Olson. He attended school at the two room Frazier Creek School, the Jordan Elementary School, graduating from Garfield County High School in 1963. In the fall of 1965, Sonny was drafted into the army where he received his basic training at Fort Ord, Ca, and spent the rest of his service at Sandia Base, Albuquerque, New Mexico. While there he received a Certificate of Achievement Award, from the Defense Atomic Support Agency. He was discharged in the fall of 1967. Upon returning home, Sonny was married to Wanda Lou Logan on Feb 21, 1968. Later they had a daughter, Mindy, who joined her stepsister, Laura. Sonny and Wanda were later divorced. On September 4, 1987, Sonny and Dianna Vollmer, had a son, OK Olson.
Sonny lived, worked, and loved the family ranch until the time of his death.He loved his family and cherished his many friends. Music was a big part of Sonnyslife,itbeganin the familyliving room, andcontinued on. He loved country music and was talented at playing several different instruments. This talentwasshared with his son and daughters, as well as his brother Skip and many close friends.
Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, and two infant sisters. He is survived by his stepdaughter Laura, his daughter Mindy Phipps (Tony) his son OK, and grandchildren Amber Weeding, Christopher Krampert, Tia, Tyrell, Tarissa, and Tierney Phipps. He is also survived by his sisters, Norma (Ken) Youngquist, Circle, Mt,Mardrie (Jim) Baker, Jordan, Mt, Betty (Don) Proue, and brother Skip, Jordan, Mt, and his nieces and nephews.
Though his
words of wit will start to fade,
His sparkling eyes are now in shade.
But in our hearts, you'll always stay
We Love you Dad
