Edythe Ann Butts was born on January 31, 1927, the daughter of Oscar and Sarah (Savin) in Brooklyn, New York. She was raised and educated in Brooklyn and graduated high school in 1945. Edythe married Martin Ginsburg at her familys home in Brooklyn, New York on September 8, 1946. Martin and Edythe had three sons and a daughter that she devoted her time in raising. They moved their family to Orange County, California in 1967 and for a short time Edythe worked for the Lambert Kay Company. On June 23, 1975, Martin Ginsberg passed away. She married John Butts in 1977 in Orange County, California. Edythe continued to make her home in California and was employed with the Mervins Clothing Company until John died in 1986. After John passed away, Edythe moved to Vancouver, Washington to care for her grandchildren and to be near her son, Mike. In April 2001 she found herself in Gillette, Wyoming for the summers caring for her son Daniels girls. Edythe would rotate her time between her two sons homes, helping them with anything that needed to be done. She was their inspiration and never stopped being a mother. Edythe attended the United Methodist Church in Gillette, Wyoming and made many friends at the church. Her family gave her the nickname HallMark Ambassador for the numerous cards she sent her family and friends for birthdays, anniversaries or just a note to cheer someone up. In 2002, she resided in Victorville, California with her son, Gene and wife Peggy. She was active in the community and has left many friends that will miss her dearly. She touched numerous lives in all the places she has lived. Reading was Edythes great pleasure in life and she had passed that love of reading on to her children.
She is survived by her son Gene (Peggy) Ginsberg of Victorsville, California, her daughter Diane Mijares of Whitman, Massachusetts, her brother Sidney (Ruth) Newman of Lakewood, New Jersey, thirteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
