Funeral Service: Friday December 10, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at theLame Deer Mennonite Church in Lame Deer, MT
Burial: will follow in the Muddy Creek Cemetery.
Ella Helen Walkslast Tallbull ( Heovee - Yellow Woman), Born January 5th 1935, Journeyed to be with her Heavenly Father on December 5th 2010 at the St. Vincents Hospital, Surrounded by her Loving family and friends.
Ella was born to Frank Walkslast and Eva Julia Spotted Wolf, She grew up in the Ashland area and eventually moved to Lame Deer where she currently resided, she was married twice in her life, her first marriage was to Robert Brien Sr, and in this union she was blessed with 6 children, She then went on to marry Charles Tallbull Sr. and to this union she was blessed with 4 children. She worked for the St. Labre Cafeeteria where she always shared her fond memories of working there, in her later years Ella was a homemaker, creating a warm and comfortable home for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, if needed she was always there for them. Ella Enjoyed reading her bible and sharing what she learned to others, driving around and visiting with friends and family, camping at pow-wows, listening to her music, going to revivals, she was a dedicated basketball fan when her grandchildren played, she liked traveling with her son Charles, she also liked going to see her children who didn't live in Lame Deer.
She was a caring woman who put the needs of her family and friends before her own even as her health started to deteriorate, she took care of many people, her home was always open to those who needed the shelter, Ella was a foster parent for many years, she was known to many simply as Grandma Ella, when someone needed help or a ride she was always willing to help.
Ella is proceeded into death by her parents, Brother Owen and Sister Ruby Walkslast, her husband Charles Tallbull Sr, her sons Ronald and Philip Brien and Charles Tallbull Jr., Granddaughter Latisha Joy Brien, and Great Granddaughter Cadie Elaine Morris
She is survived by her children, Robert Brien Jr (Georgia), Lucille White hip (Ryder), Martha Emigh-Lamier (Steve), Matthew Emigh, Charlotte White Crane (Winslow), Zipporah Tallbull, and Rebekah Perkins (Kevin), Special niece and nephew Gary and Mari Walkslast, adopted daughters- Louella Firecrow, Rebecca Spieser, Brenda Pretty Weasel, Maggie Walksnice,. adopted sons- Alonzo Walker, Harlan Tallbull, Clinton Birdhat, Isadore Whitewolf, Joseph Whitewolf Jr, Walter Blackwolf, from Ellas children she was blessed and loved all 38 grandchildren and 53 Great-Grandchildren. when her grandchildren needed her for anything, shelter, words of wisdom or just to be there for them, she was there.Frank Tallbull, Kenneth Buddy Brien, Casin Whitewolf, Tyrin Killsnight and Randall Killsnight grandsons whom Ella helped raise as her own.Ella was very proud and close to her first great-granddaughter Stephfawn Jade Tallbull who also has her cheyenne name, Heovee
The family would like to thank Grace Kim and the staff at Dialysis Clinic Inc, the staff at the St. Vincent Hospital and the staff at the Aspen Meadows Nursing Home.
