Burial: will follow in the Forsyth Cemetery with full military honors
Ellis Wheeler Wolfe, age 88, of Forsyth passed away Friday July 4, 2009 at Rosebud Health Care Center.
Ellis was born on June 16, 1921 in Forsyth to Jesse and Blanche Wolfe. He attended grade school in Forsyth and graduated from Rosebud County High School. Upon graduation he worked for area ranchers until entering the U.S. Navy where he served for four years. After his honorable discharge he returned to Forsyth working construction and then moved to Laurel, MT where he worked for Laurel Chevrolet.
Ellis and Rita Rogacki, were married in Laurel, Montana on February 7, 1948 and returned to Forsyth where Ellis worked for Foleys Construction, as an oiler. Ellis was the ranch manager, for the A.G. Lee Ranch, before purchasing the Allis Chalmers dealership, which he owned and operated for ten years. Later, returning to Western Energy as a dragline operator, retiring in 1985. Ellis was an avid shooter. He enjoyed target shooting with the Forsyth Gun Club and the Quigley Shoot.
In addition to his wife Rita of Forsyth, Ellis is survived by his son Jim Wolfe of Forsyth; daughters Betty Wolfe-Ledet of Mancos, CO., Rita Faye (Eugene) Beyl of Forsyth and Ronda (Randy) Cantrelle of Larose, LA; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his
parents he was preceded in death by his sister Lois Makin.
