Graveside funeral service for Elmer Hollenbeck will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 18, 2004 at the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette, Wyoming with Pastor Andrew Carsrud of the Family Life Church officiating.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 17, 2004 from 4-8 p.m. at the Stevenson-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Gillette, Wyoming.
Elmer Hollenbeck, age78, of Gillette, Wyoming died on Saturday, August 14, at Pioneer Manor in Gillette of natural causes.
Elmer A. Hollenbeck was born October 7, 1925 in Ansley Nebraska., the son of Elmer F. and Anna (Anderson) Hollenbeck. Elmer was educated in Berwyn, Nebraska and graduated in 1943. He then moved to San Diego California to work in his brothers-in-law grocery store.On October 5, 1946 Elmer Married Betty Adkins and two children were born of this union. The couple later divorced. In 1948 they returned to Nebraska to help his family on the farm. In 1959 the family moved to Wheatland, Wyoming where he worked in law enforcement.
Elmer later moved to Cheyenne and worked for the Department of Revenue. On August 24, 1968 he married Betty (Dickerson) Morrison in Nunn Colorado. They resided in Newcastle for one year, then in 1969 moved to Gillette, Wyoming. Elmer then became employed with Amax Coal in 1971 working in supply and later worked as a shovel operator and then a pit foreman until his retirement in 1985.
Elmer was an avid garage saler, woodworker, and fisherman. He loved to travel and resided in Quartzsite, Arizona for six months of every year for the past 20 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Elmer is survived by his wife; Betty Hollenbeck of Gillette, Wyoming, daughters Paula (Jimmy) Wilson of Wheatland, Wyoming, Mary Jane (Rollie) Tatum of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Sandy (Rick) Halbrook of Gillette, Wyoming, Kathleen (Lonnie) Terry of Santa Fe, Tennessee; one son, William Morrison Jr. of Cheyenne, Wyoming; one brother, Cody Hollenbeck of Sumner, Nebraska: ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Topper Hollenbeck; four sisters Mildred, Waunita, Evelyn, and Annamae and one granddaughter, Wendy Wilson.

Mr Topper was lucky to live in Arizona several months out of the year vs Wyoming winters.
