Interment: will follow in the family lot of the Pioneer Cemetery in Jordan
Eloise Saylor, age 85, of Jordan passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2004 at the Garfield County Health Center in Jordan.
Eloise was born in Broken Bow, Nebraska on April 20, 1919, the daughter of Earl and Elisabeth (Gibbons) Hastings. She moved to Montana at the age of nine and grew up in the Little Dry by the Flowing Wells Community. Eloise was one of the first to graduate from the Garfield County High School in 1938. Eloise married Walter Saylor on July 14, 1938 in Lewiston, Montana. In January of 1939, they were blessed with their first son, Ronald and in February of 1941 their daughter, Irene Marie Saylor was born. Eloise was a ranch wife all her life. In 1979, they leased their ranch to Ronald Saylor and later sold it to him and moved to Jordan where they made their home until the time of her death. Eloise enjoyed traveling, gardening, horses, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Eloise is survived by her husband Walter Saylor of Jordan, MT; a son, Ronald Saylor and his wife Roxie of Jordan, MT; a daughter, Irene Robertson and her husband John of Circle, MT; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; and two sisters-in-law: Melba Currey of Jordan, MT; and Abbie Hill of Anderson, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters: Luella Hastings, Mildred Hastings, and a daughter at infancy; and a half brother, Miles Doran.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 7, 2004 from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Jordan. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jordan. Interment will follow in the family lot of the Pioneer Cemetery in Jordan. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice
