Elsie Iris Park passed away in her sleep in the early hours of October 11, 2003 at the Roosevelt Memorial Nursing Home in Culbertson, Montana. She was born August 24, 1907 to Fred J. and Ida May Leonard in their log cabin south of Bainville, Montana.
Following her education at Lakeside Country School and Bainville High School, she married Ira Frank (Pete) Park on September 22, 1925. They were blessed with three children: Ira Leonard, Frederick Louis, and Gloria May. In addition to raising her family, Elsie worked in farming and ranching, as a bookkeeper, and spent the last 20 years in the workplace as a dental assistant. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary, Eastern Star, and active in the Senior Citizens Group and other community affairs.
Elsie is survived by her daughter-in-law Ruth Park (Ira Leonard), son-in-law Tom Marchwick (Gloria May), 13 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She loved and appreciated her family and many devoted friends.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2003 at the Everson-Clayton-Stevenson Memorial Chapel in Culbertson. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m., Friday, October 17, 2003 at the Culbertson United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at the Hillside Cemetery.
