Elva M. Erickson, age 81, gently passed away Monday night after a long illness.
Elva was born January 29, 1925, at Wolf Point, Montana to Emil and Clara Shefelbine. She grew up South of Wolf Point on the farm where her mother homesteaded with her sister, Gina.She graduated from Wolf Point High School in 1944. On June 24, 1944, she married Chester Erickson and raised 8 children on the family farm north of Wolf Point. After retirement, she and Chet spent winters in Arizona and summers in Wolf Point and Nashua.Elva loved dancing, golfing, playing cards and games, meeting new people, and spending time with friends. She worked for several years at the Citizens First National Bank in Wolf Point.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Chet; her son, James; brothers, Orville and Leslie Shefelbine; and sister Edna Giles.
She is survived by her children: Tim of Wolf Point, MT, April of Spokane, WA, Russ of Evanston WY, Dale of Wolf Point, MT, Gordon of Ketchican, AK, Ruth of Nashua, MT, and Lee of Tucson, AZ; her grandchildren: Jan of Green River, WY, Chad of Boise, ID, Jon of Wolf Point, MT and Mike of Durango, CO; a great-grandson, Corey of Durango, CO; as well as her sister, Muriel Willoughby of Glendive, MT. She is also survived by a large extended family.
Clayton Stevenson Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
