Emma Mae Holman, age 81 of Miles City, MT passed away Friday, April 3, 2009 at Holy Rosary Health Center.
She was born April 11, 1927 at Edgerton, WY the daughter of Jack and Iola (Stevens) Kemp. While living on the family ranch at Espy she attended country school and then at Broadus Schools. Afterwards she moved to Miles City and began work at Woolworths before marrying Howard Holman on August 18, 1952. Together they ranched for 25 years at Volborg, MT then retired to Miles City where they have resided since.
Emma Mae was happiest when all her family was around as they were her passion in life. She loved the ranch most of all. Emma Mae enjoyed many hobbies which included painting, ceramics, sewing and cake decorating specializing in wedding cakes. She was a member of the Cowbelles and a 4-H leader.
She is survived by her husband Howard of Miles City, 3 sons; Larry (Linda) Kemp of Glenrock, WY, Jerry (Donna) Holman and Ronnie Holman all of Miles City; 3 daughters; Donna (Wade) Larson of Bowman, ND, Sherry (Bob) Sprenger of Helena, MT and Lorrie Clemons of Miles City, MT; 2 sisters; Vi (Joe) Zawada of Miles City, MT and Della (Leonard) Gasaway of Douglas, WY; 22 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Emma Mae was preceded in death by a son Gary Kemp, a daughter Linda Stoldorf Worrell and her brothers Charlie Kemp and Woodrow Jilge.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, April 6, 2009, with the family to receive friends from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. the family will receive friends at the chapel of Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home. Interment will be held at a later date at the Eastern Montana State Veterans Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City has been entrusted with the arrangements.
