Emma Sackman Knopp

Visitation: will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Terry

Funeral Services: will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. at the Fallon Evangelical Church in Fallon, MT

Interment: will follow at the Fallon Cemetery

Emma Sackman Knopp, age 99, of McPherson, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 2004.

Emma Sackman Knopp, the oldest of 14 children, was born December 3, 1904 in Ashley, North Dakota to Jacob and Salomena Maier Sackman. In 1923, Emma moved to Montana, where she attended grade school.On Sunday, December 22, 1929, Emma was united in holy matrimony to Daniel Knopp at the Fallon Flat Church in Fallon, MT. She spent most of her life in Montana. In 1990 due to health problems she moved to her daughter Violet in California. In 1998 she came to Kansas and stayed with her daughter Maylou; due to health problems she became a resident of Shiloh Manor nursing home for over 5 years.Emma loved the Lord. She opened up her home to many missionaries, pastors, church groups that needed lodges. She loved to read her Bible and missed this treasure, as she grew older and her eyes were growing dim. One of her favorite sayings was "Ill pray for you" this made a great impact on many lives. We know we will miss her, but as she would say "Im ready to go home".

Her husband, Daniel, preceded her in death November 1, 1951.

She is survived by two daughters; Maylou and her husband Melvon of McPherson, Kansas and Violet and her husband Larry of Meridan, Idaho, a brother, Ben Sackman of Billings, MT, her sisters; Barbara Patterson of Powell, WY, Esther Sackman and Rachel Ruff of Billings, MT, Max Guidice of Miles City, MT, her daughter-in-law Mary Lou, Knopp of Cheyenne, WY, eight grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel on November 1, 1951, her parents, her son Marvin, five brothers; John, Fred, Albert, Alvin and Walter and three sisters; Connie Burns, Sally Hoffer and Elizabeth Day.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Terry. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. at the Fallon Evangelical Church in Fallon, MT. Interment will follow at the Fallon Cemetery.
