Erma Dorothy Nelson, age 93, of Miles City passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at the Holy Rosary Health Center in Miles City.
Erma was born in Wabasha, Minnesota on January 4, 1915, the daughter of ChristianDascher and Mary Powell. She attended grade school and graduated from Wabasha High School. Following graduation, she went to Northwest Bible School for four years in Minnesota. In 1949, she moved to Montana with Lois Gackle. She later married Thomas C. Nelson on July 20, 1951 at Jordan, Montana. They lived on the Victor Nelson Ranch and worked for several other ranchers until they purchased their ranch at Steves Fork. They lived there until 1966 when Thomas passed away and Erma moved into Miles City where she worked as a nurses aide at Holy Rosary Hospital and for the VA Hospital in Miles City until 1977 when she retired.
Erma volunteered at the gift shop at Holy Rosary Hospital. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, embroidery, sewing and watching all sports especially baseball. Ermas greatest joy was her family and her Lord and Savior who she is now with.
Erma is survived by her son, Tom C. (Marie) Nelson of Miles City, MT; a daughter, Thomasine (Odis) Robertson of Arkansas; and a sister, Christine Mason of Voorhees, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Thomas C. Nelson Jr.; a brother Clint Dascher and a sister Violet Ridgeway.
Family will receive friends on Friday, February 15, 2008 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City.
