Erna Haber, age 97 of Circle, went to be with her Savior on March 29, 2015 at the McCone County Health Center in Circle.
Erna was born on December 30, 1917 at Crow Rock, MT; the daughter of Ludwig and Christina (Wahl) Naasz. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a lifetime member of the Lutheran Church. She taught Sunday school for many years and was also active in the church choir and Ladies Aide.
Erna attended a country school at Crow Rock. She was unable to attend high school because it was too far to travel and all helping hands were needed on the family farm. She married her best friend John Haber on November 17, 1937 and was a farm wife all of her married life. Besides her many chores she enjoyed to embroider and textile painting. The coffee pot was always on at Erna’s and no one left her house hungry.
Erna is survived by her daughter Lorraine Schara; two granddaughters: Vicky Schara and Brenda (Scott) Foley; two great granddaughters: Lindsey and Lauren Foley; one sister Delila Scheid; one brother Eugene Naasz and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband John, her parents, her sister Martha Neiffer, two brothers Edgar and Edwin Naasz.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 3, 2015 with the family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Circle. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the Salem Lutheran Church in Circle. Interment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery.
