Ernest Granbois

Ernest Paul Granbois Sr., age 74, of Poplar MT, went home to join his parents, brother, eight sisters and two stepsons on October 24, 2003.

Earnest was born June 2, 1929 to Patrice and Margaret (Montriel) Granbois in Belcourt, North Dakota.Ernie lived in Belcourt ND until he was 16; he then moved to Poplar, MT where he made his home. He worked in the oilfield for Northern Drilling, B0Mac, Brinkerhoff and Grace Drilling Companies. He worked as a roughneck, Driller and a tool pusher for 52 years. He retired from the oil fields in 1990.He enjoyed hunting, working on cars, listening to country and western music, riding around, doing home repairs and big at family gatherings. He especially loved being around his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Eunice of Poplar, MT; two daughters, Erna of Poplar, MT, Cheri of Glasgow, MT; three sons, Lawrence (Syna) of Wolf Point, MT, Ernest Jr. (Vicky) of Poplar, MT, Bryce of Shelby, MT and one stepson, Howard Jone's of Wasceca, MN. Eight grandchildren Chris, Jamie, Rick, Beau, Alicia, Cheri, Marcia, and Misty; Eleven great grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
