Ernest John Tate, age 63, of Miles City passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at his home in Miles City.
John was born on November 8, 1943 in Dillon, Montana, the son of Ernest Lassle and Lilly Mary (Terriault) Tate. He attended school in Virginia City then began working as a ranch hand in the area. John married Linda Rb on June 11, 1967 in Virginia City. They lived in Virginia City for fifteen years before moving to Wyoming, then on to Deer Lodge before moving to Miles City. John enjoyed hunting, reading and listening to the radio. He especially loved to spend time with his grandkids and wife. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Miles City.
John is survived by his wife, Linda Tate of Miles City, MT; a son John Allen Tate and his wife Amy of Deer Lodge, MT; two daughters: Lilly Marion Tate of Gold Creek, MT; and Martha Jane Tate of Missoula, MT; and six grandchildren: Keesha Lyn, Jeremy Curtis, Brittney Shantel,Shalyn Rose, Jesse Allen and KimberlyScholler. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Art Schultz.
A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Miles City. Interment will be held at a later date at the Melrose Cemetery near Dillon.
