Ervin James Four Bear of Brockton passed away on September 13, 2004 at the Poplar Community Hospital. He was born January 14, 1929 to Stanley and Maude (First) Four Bear in Ft. Kipp, Montana.
Ervin was married to Pearl Blount on December 26, 1950 in Phoenix, AZ. He served in the Air Force from September 1947 to September 1951 and was stationed at Bryan Air Force Base in Bryan Texas. He worked as an engineering equipment operator, railroad worker and farmhand. Ervin began working for the BIA Road Department in 1965 and continued for over 29 years, retiring on January 13, 1993. He enjoyed pow-wows, listening to music with his wife and working in his yard. He also liked to take things apart and re-build them. His most favorite pastime was watching sports on television.
Ervin is survived by his wife Pearl of the family home in Brockton, sons: Myron of Brockton and Dennis (Felicia) Four Bear of Wolf Point; daughters, Kathleen Lambert, Irene (David) Evenson, and Theresa Four Bear, all of Brockton. He is also survived by grandchildren Geraldine, Rayette, Wilfred (Kari) and Eileen Lambert, Roberta Campbell, Merilee and Tatum Evenson, Kimberly Red Eagle, Isaac Four Bear, Harold Red Eagle, Jr., Natalie Red Eagle, Carrie Dawn Four Bear, and Erica, Kevyn and Kylee Four Bear, Shilo Four Bear, Cubby and Sage, 12 great-grandchildren and one brother, Raymond (Marietta) Four Bear of Brockton. Other survivors include the families of Perry, White Eagle, Black Dog, First, and Chopper. He will be meeting one son, Kevin James Four Bear, one grandson, Philip L. Four Bear, one granddaughter Mandy Red Eagle, one great grandson Dallas Jerome Ward, and one brother, Virgil Four Bear.
Wake services will be held on Friday, September 17, 2004 at the Brockton Cultural Center beginning at 7 pm. with funeral services on Saturday, September 18, 2004 at 10 a.m. at the Brockton Cultural Center. Interment will be at Ft. Kipp Cemetery.
