Ethel Kay (Grant) Ostrum, age 58, of Broadus passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2010 at the Powder River Manor in Broadus after a courageous battle with cancer.
Ethel was born on August 8, 1951 in Miles City, Montana, the daughter of Charley and Nellie (Taylor) Grant. Ethel grew up and attended school in Powder River County. She worked at various jobs throughout her life including cooking and managing restaurants and running a cleaning business in Billings up until her illness. She has been greatly missed by her clients who checked on her often during her illness. Ethel enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing cards.
Ethel is survived by two brothers: Cliff Grant of Broadus, MT; and Bill (Glenda) Grant of Ashland, MT; three sisters: Esther (Veryl) Sandine of Box Elder, SD; Marie (Leo) Farrar and Nellie (Ken) Johnstone both of Broadus, MT; a sister-in-law, Darlene Grant of Broadus, MT; an aunt Doris Scrutchfield of Sheridan, WY and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: James, Willard, Gene & Charley Jr.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Broadus. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Broadus. Interment will be held in the Valley View Cemetery.
