Ethelene Killsnight, 74, of Busby, Montana was born on February 23, 1947 in Crow, Montana. She was the daughter of Martin Killsnight Sr. and Helen Hoops. Ethelene has passed on to join Maheo.
Ethelene was a well-respected five-time pledger woman amongst our Northern Cheyenne Tribe. She helped many tribal members through ceremonial sun dances. Ethelene took pride in her cultural ways and was a fluent Cheyenne speaker. She received her education from Busby and Labre. She then continued on to attend beauty school in Colorado. Meanwhile, she had met the father of her children, Thomas Charley Sr., and they were blessed with three beautiful children. Anyone who knew Ethelene knew Tommy was her baby, protector, best friend, and they were always together. She also took Shannon Cunningham, Michael (Mikee) Willard Jr., and Lonnie Taylor as her own.
Ethelene had multiple hobbies and careers throughout her life such as being a foster parent, working at Rosebud Lodge, a head start teacher, art teacher, and a beautician. She also had a passion for beading, anything to do with Elvis Presley, cooking, and just all around making the best of life with family and friends. She made Busby, MT her forever home where everyone was always welcome.
Ethelene will forever be missed and loved by many and continue to live on through her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother Helen Hoops, father Martin Killsnight Sr., sisters Florene Taylor, Alice Risingsun, Irma Killsnight, Evelen Killsnight, Audrey Haugen, her brothers Logan Tex and Joseph Curley, Martin Killsnight Jr, her daughter Tonyell Charley, Grandchildren Marika Willard, Stephanie Shotgunn, Niece Troylynn Taylor, Nephew Lonnie Taylor, adopted daughter Diane Woodenlegs.
Survivors include her children Shawna and Thomas Charley, grandchildren Ramon (Ashley) & kids, Tyrae, Makyla (Eddie), Alejandra, Chantae (Marcell) & kids, Danika & kids, Chad & kids, Aaliyah (Marty) & kids, Ethan, Hailey & kids, Darius (Kiana) & kids, Tavian, Lerena, Mikee III, Rikee, Haven, Taye, Nicole (Nick) & kids, brothers Billford Curley & Dean Rondau, niece Daphne, nephew Donovan (Charie) & kids, along with many more nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, cousins, and friends. We apologize if we have left anyone out as our extended family is very large.
