Eugene A. “Gene” Fowler, age 67, died March 6, 2013 at the Veterans Hospital in Miles City, MT.
Eugene was born September 20, 1945 in Denver where he grew up and attended schools. He entered the US Military where he served 3 tours in Vietnam. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, and Vietnam Service with two Bronze Stars, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device. After his service to our Nation, he worked as a carpenter, and also did concrete work in the Denver area.
The last 20 years of his life, he has lived in Miles City, MT and continued with his carpentry work. His work was meticulous, and he took a lot of pride in each project. He had a passion for hunting and also a love for fishing. He enjoyed all of nature and Gods creation. He was a soft hearted man to those who knew him, raising wounded baby robins back to health and always putting out peanuts for the squirrels. He relished sitting out on his porch and watching them.
Gene is survived by his longtime friends whom he considered his family; Dave and Colette Harris and family of Miles City and genuinely enjoyed watching their five children as they were growing up. He gave generously of his time and spent unending hours helping them remodel their apartment. With his unique circumstances and life experiences, little is known of his family and history. As a grateful Nation we thank him for his service for our freedom.

Dave and Colette: I will miss Gene. He was a mystery in so many ways but always had a kind word and always had a cheerful greeting or farewell.

This was my uncle Gene and we lost contact with him years ago. May he rest in peace, God know he deserved it.

This is his son Luke Gene Fowler. I haven’t seen him in over 30 years. Too bad he abandoned me and my brother Steve. I hope he rests in peace
