Eugene W. Reynolds, know to his family and friends as Gene, age 49,of Moorcroft, Wyoming, passed away August 25, 2004, at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, Wyoming from complications due to a stroke that occurred on July 3, 2004.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 30, 2004, at the First Presbyterian Church in Moorcroft, Wyoming with Pastor Donovan Voigt officiating. Interment will follow inthe Moorcroft Cemetery with full military honors provided by the American Legion Post 8473 of Moorcroft, Wyoming. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 29, 2004, at the First Presbyterian Church in Moorcroft, Wyoming.
Gene was born March 16, 1955, the son of Wayne and Alberta (Sehn) Reynolds in Gillette, Wyoming. In 1973, Gene graduated from the Moorcroft High School. In July of 1974, Gene enlisted in the U.S. Army. On November 18, 1974, he married Verlene Taylor in Moorcroft, Wyoming. The couple moved to Tacoma, Washington, where he was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington until his honorable discharge in July of 1977, when they moved back to Moorcroft, Wyoming. Gene was employed by Basic Energy of Moorcroft, Wyoming.
Gene enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, golfing and working on hot rods. His favorite pass time was being Crew Chief and watching his son drag race. Gene was serving as Post Commander of the American Legion Post 8473 of Moorcroft, Wyoming.
Gene is survived by his mother; his wife; his son, Chuck Reynolds, all of Moorcroft, Wyoming; two daughters: Kristy Reynolds of Gillette, Wyoming; Laura Whisler, of Moorcroft, Wyoming; his sister, Becky Wood of Duncan, Oklahoma; two brothers: Clint Reynolds of Moorcroft, Wyoming; Alf Reynolds of Oshoto, Wyoming; and the joy of his life, his grandson, J.D. Bubba Whisler of Moorcroft, Wyoming.
He was preceded in death by his father and his daughter, Brenda Reynolds.
