Eva Marie Benson of Colstrip, MT went to be with the Lord on Wednesday March 30th.
Eva, or Eve as she was known by many, was born in Martinsville, Va. on July 26 to Elizabeth Sink Ashby and Leslie Clarence Ashby. She had 5 sisters, Anna Easley, Jean Draper, Carol Gilley, Sandra Yates, as well as two brothers William Ashby and her twin brother Donnie Ashby. Eve attended school in Virginia, then moved to Montana in her early twenties. In Montana she met and eventually married her late husband Roger Benson. Eve and Roger had two children Stacey Christianson and Stephen Benson. The young family soon moved to Colstrip where Eve found work at First Interstate Bank as a temporary teller. This position became permanent and full time. Eve worked hard and quickly moved up the ladder to become one of the first female bank presidents in Montana. Eve retired from banking after several years and many accomplishments. She was loved by many and will be missed dearly.
Eve is survived by her sister Jean, brother Don, son Steve, and her grandchildren Alex, Parker and Amanda.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to Hospice in Evas name.
Funeral Service will be held onMonday, April 4, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Colstrip, MT. Private Family Burial will take place at a later date.
