Eva Hage, age 91, of Miles City passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at the Holy Rosary Hospital in Miles City.
Eva was born in Fairview, Montana on February 15, 1921, the daughter of Gustav and Manda (Hoff) Hage. She attended schools in Fairview and graduated from Fairview High School She enlisted in the Navy in 1943, serving during World War II with her sister Gladys. Shortly after being in the Navy, she moved to the family ranch near Jordan. Later, she moved into Miles City where she lived with her sister May Hovland. After her sister passed away in 2003, she moved into the Eagles Manor where she resided until the time of her passing.
Eva enjoyed jig saw puzzles and was referred to as the Queen of cross word puzzles. She was also talented at sewing and embroidery.
Eva is survived by her nephews: Steven Sheard, Stuart Sheard and Spencer Sheard; her longtime friend and caretaker, Linda Stokes of Miles City.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2012 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Military graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Eastern Montana State Veteran’s Cemetery in Miles City with full military honors provided by VFW Post 1579. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City is in charge of the arrangements.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

I knew Eva & her sister May & their brother Loyyd his sons Gust & Johnny. I knew Eva growing up as a child at the ranch. What a wonderful lady Eva was and oh the memories i have of Eva. who loved to bake and garden. Many sweaters ponchos & mittens she knitted and crocheted for r me. Eva and I would walk to the mailbox to get the mail.She walked too fast for me lol. Eva could dance too. I remember May would watch Larence Welk and get Eva up and dance the polka. Of course I will never forget that Norwegian word she would sometimes say “oofda” lol ! Rest in peace dear Eva I will never forgert you peace be with you until we meet again
