Evalyn Green passed away peacefully on May 29, 2018 at Tender Nest Assisted Living with her loving family at her side.
Evalyn was born August 26, 1923 at Foundation, Montana to Howard and Marie Myers. She attended and graduated from Foundation Grade School, Custer County High School and Montana Institute School.
She married Richard Green on April 28, 1945. They were married for 63 years, until his death in 2008. Evalyn and Richard had one son, Howard.
Evalyn was employed by Montana Dakota Utilities and later as Business Manager of Richard’s plumbing business.
Evalyn and Richard’s home was a family gathering place for many years, as they had converted the workshop behind their house in a studio apartment for her mother, Marie. In later years the family enjoyed gatherings at her sister, Maxine’s home and after Maxine’s passing, nephew Ryan’s house and finally to her niece Serri and husband Lenn’s house.
Evalyn and Richard enjoyed dancing and often attended dances at the VFW. She loved tending her small flower garden and lawn. Evalyn was very devoted to her family.
Evalyn is survived by her son, Howard; sister, Wanda Roberts; sister-in-law, Ethel Myers and many special nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Green; parents, Howard and Marie Myers; brothers, Charles (Chuck), William (Bill) and Robert (Wayne); sisters, Marguerite (Deate) Green and Maxine (Max) Rosenburg and daughter-in-law Loretta Rosh.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 with the family receiving friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Interment will follow in the Eastern Montana Veteran’s Cemetery next to Richard. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevensonandsons.com.
