Evelyn Jean Malkuch Kleppelid, 83, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 21, 2016.
Jean was born on May 8, 1932 to Ernest and Dora Malkuch in Glendive, MT. Jean was one of twelve children who grew up on a family farm where hard work and love were plentiful. Jean graduated High School in Glendive. Jean was working for Mountain Bell Telephone Company in Glendive when she moved to Circle, MT to help start Faith Assembly of God Church. There she met her husband, Wayne Kleppelid and his five young boys. Wayne and Jean were married on September 14, 1963; through that union, two more boys were added. Wayne and Jean knew no strangers and everyone felt loved and welcomed in their home. Jean loved to cook, especially her boy’s favorite meal, scalloped potatoes.
Jean was a loving and caring wife, mother, daughter, and sister, who was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, her parents, and her eleven siblings. Jean is survived by her seven sons: Chuck (Betty) of Hurst, TX; Donnie (Debbie) of Huntsville, TX; Lyle (Vicky) Kleppelid of Jackson, MS; Kevin (Kim) of Baker, MT; Darrel of Circle, MT; Todd (Tonya) of Circle, MT; David (Emmie) of Helena, MT. Jean had seventeen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, who all remember Grandma’s chocolate chip cookies that she made by the “feel” of the dough rather than a recipe. Jean was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
Memorial services will be held on May 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Circle. Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Circle is in charge of the arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: www.stevnesonandsons.com.

My condolences to the Kleppelid family. Jean was such a sweet lady! I worked with her at the Circle Service Center back in the 80’s, and saw her again when I’d go to see my brother, Alton Olson, in Circle. She still was trying to take care of people – helping put slippers on, etc. The love in her just made her face shine. She will be missed so much.

My sincerest and heartfelt condolences to the entire Kleppelid family! Jean was a wonderful woman with probably the biggest heart of anyone I ever met. I fondly remember good times with her and Wayne during my time playing baseball at Angel Field to playing football in Pee Wee League and throughout high school. Such avid community supporters! I always tried to stop in at the Exxon to say hello when I’d come home on leave just to visit with these two for a few minutes. Jean will be missed by many. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

So sorry to hear of Evelyn’s passing. I first met her during the state achievement tests in seventh grade, at the high school in Glendive. Went through Hi School with her and then we both worked for Mountain States Tel & Tel. We were married the same year and went to our new homes. We kept in contact all these years and she never changed. Was always pleasant and a caring good friend. She will be missed. Condolences to you all.

Jean was a very lovely lady and I am sorry for your loss. My mother was married to Art Neubauer and Jean always treated Mom and all of us like one of the family. I know you have so many precious memories of your Mom and Dad that they will always be close in the hearts of all the family. I feel very blessed to have known them both.

Dear family of Jean,
You have our deepest sympathy in the death of your wonderful mother & grandmother, Jean! She was one of the most loving, Christian ladies we have ever known! She was such a good friend of ours & always had a smile for each of us whenever she saw us. We will miss her! We used to enjoy having birthday parties together with all the neighborhood ladies. Think we had 8 ladies who would get together for our birthdays and now all are deceased except Lillian Stundahl & me. Those were happy times! May God give you His comfort & His strength to go on now & in the days ahead! We will see her again in heaven. Love, Your friends, Jim & Maureen Stiles

I think of Aunt Jean and the first thing that pops into my head was her love of God, her gentle spirit and her love for her family! I remember visiting her apartment when she was dating Uncle Wayne. I thought it was so cool I had an aunt that was dating! When we had the last reunion in Glendive, I road around town with them in their car just looking around. Jean was welcomed home with open arms!! Becky Benoit and family
