Evelyn Standing Elk-Two Bulls, age 67, of Ashland, Mt. passed away on November 13, 2013 at Billings Clinic. Evelyn was born November 14, 1945 at Birney, Mt. to Henry Standing Elk and Mary Swallow Standing Elk. She was raised in Birney and later moved to Ashland. She attended St. Labre Mission School. While in high school she participated in basketball and was a cheerleader for the boys basketball team. She graduated from high school in 1964. She attended Billings Beauty School where she received her degree in cosmetology. She moved back to Ashland where she began her long career with St. Labre working in various departments throughout employment. She enjoyed going to work and enjoyed the many friends she worked with throughout the years. After retiring in 2006 she would still try to go to work. She met and married the love of her life Orville Two Bulls, after a 41 year courtship, finally getting married on August 6, 2010. Together they raised two children Jason & Evelyn Kay in Ashland, Mt. She especially enjoyed spectating at all their sporting events. Many times she went with her sister Elsie much to Jason’s embarrassment, as they would cheer and laugh the loudest. She enjoyed bowling and was proud that she bowled a perfect game as she was respected around the bowling community. She enjoyed playing softball with her nieces Donna and Bitty, their coach was Corky, team name “Corky’s Angels”. She would still talk to this day how they turned a triple play in Hardin, Mt. Eventually playing long enough to get her daughter Evelyn Kay started in softball. She enjoyed family outings and traveling to various parts of the country with Elsie and family as they traveled as far as Disneyland,”road trip”. Enjoyed attending Benno’s Sundance ceremonies in Wyoming, and visiting family in Ethete, WY. She especially enjoyed being with family, all family outings, hunting, camping, fishing, visiting, watching softball. She enjoyed taking care of her mom, and attending various events with her, and later watching her grandchildren’s sports. She rarely missed a game from basketball, football, baseball and even t-ball! She was very social and enjoyed being around her many friends, too numerous to mention. In January 2012, she moved to Billings to be with her son, Jason. She was cared for and loved by Autumn Standing Elk as they shopped and went to various appt. around Billings. She had a caring and loving heart, especially at Christmas time. Evelyn looked up to her big brother George, enjoyed spending time with Stella and Elsie, and taking care of brother Edwin.
She was a big part of the Ashland community, and attending church at St. Labre Parish.

Evelyn, Ashley and Jason,
Love and prayers for you all during this difficult time. Your mom was a sweet, caring and very quiet (most of the time) lady! Knowing her since 1st grade at St. Labre was a privelege and I remember her later in cheerleading! Cool, huh? She did quite a fantastic job of raising you kids! I am so very proud of you both! Not everyone can accomplish what you have!! I hope you both find peace knowing mom is now with dad and all that went before her. God bless you all.

My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Evelyn Standing Elk-Two Bulls- I am sorry to hear of your loss. May you find comfort in many beautiful memories of Mrs. Standing Elk-Two Bulls at this difficult time. The Bible tells us that it was never the Creator’s purpose for humans to suffer and die (Romans 5:12). His word also gives us hope that soon the Creator will end all pain, suffering, and death. (Revelation 21:4) The promise of Paradise, the perfect conditions God originally intended for mankind in the Garden of Eden will include God’s “will being done as in Heaven also upon Earth” (Matthew 6:9, 10). Please continue to be comforted by the many promises of a hopeful future in the Bible. (John 17:3).
